In celebration of International Women’s Month, the Standard Bank Joy Of Jazz announced the first few sizzling female artists billed for the 26th edition of the festival Getting ready to thrill on the Dinaledi Stage is Siya Makuzeni known as a sterling South African multi-talented trombone player and vocalist. Moreover, she is also the winner of the 2016 Standard Bank Young Artist Award for jazz. Fellow 2018 Standard Bank Young Artist for jazz, Thandi Ntuli will join Makuzeni on the Dinaledi stage.

The 2024 Standard Bank Joy of Jazz is set to celebrate Nelson Mandela Day by raising R 500 000 at a special event for the youth on 18th July 2024. Dubbed the ‘Jazz for Young People’ Masterclasses and Jam Session the event will take place at the South African National School of Arts in Braamfontein.
The ‘Jazz for Young People’ initiative aims to raise R 500 000 for the renovations at the South African National School of Arts. The celebrations will bring together renowned musicians and the school’s Alumni as masterclass instructors. This will offer a unique opportunity for aspiring young musicians to learn from industry leaders while contributing to a worthy cause.

The 2024 Standard Bank Joy of Jazz (SBJOJ) is set to celebrate its 25 year milestone this year with a bold line-up of performances fit for Africa’s premier jazz festival. The 2024 Standard Bank Joy of Jazz will take place on 27 and 28 September 2024 at the Sandton Convention Centre, in Johannesburg.
This year, the SBJOJ will host over 50 world class musicians, from more than 10 countries. Artists will perform across five stages in two days. The festival will showcase jazz music accents from the African continent, Europe, East Asia, and the Americas to weave a truly global vision of jazz as a world unifying musical idiom.
